The Birch Hills Fishing Club is excited to welcome anglers back for the second season of fishing at the Birch Hills Reservoir! Thanks to the dedication of local volunteers, generous donations, and community support, our stocked trout fishing reservoir continues to grow into a fun and family-friendly outdoor destination for residents and visitors alike.

Whether you’re an experienced angler or introducing your kids to fishing for the very first time, the reservoir offers a peaceful place to relax, enjoy nature, and hopefully reel in a beautiful trout!

Open May 30, 2026 – October 31, 2026

Fishing License Fees

Birch Hills Residents: $20.00

Non-Residents: $30.00

Fishing licenses are mandatory and available for purchase at the Town Office.

Reservoir Rules

  • To help protect the fishery and ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, please follow all reservoir rules:
  • A Birch Hills Reservoir Fishing License is mandatory and available at the Town Office for purchase.
  • Barbless hooks are the only hooks authorized to be used; all other hooks are prohibited.
  • Live bait is prohibited, except for worms.
  • Fish limit shall be one (1) fish per person per day; catch and release is encouraged.
  • On-shore fishing only.
  • The use of boats, tubes, and/or other floating devices is prohibited.
  • Residents and non-residents are only permitted to walk in; vehicles are prohibited.
  • Off-site cleaning only — no fish filleting is permitted on town property.
  • Swimming in the reservoir is prohibited.
  • No littering — what you bring in, you must take out.
  • Fires are not permitted.
  • Alcohol is prohibited.
  • It is highly recommended that children under the age of 12 wear a life jacket and be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteer Run & Community Supported

The Birch Hills Fishing Club is proudly volunteer-run and relies entirely on donations, fundraising efforts, and community support to cover annual fish stocking costs and future club initiatives.

Every license purchased, donation made, and volunteer hour contributed helps keep this local attraction thriving for years to come.
